Join us for a community work day on Friday, August 18th, from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM at the Dr. George Washington Carver Edible Park. Let's join forces to spruce up the park and create an inviting space in Asheville's East End/Valley Street Neighborhood.
Kelly Applegate from Bountiful Cities will be guiding us, sharing her expertise to help enhance the park. Bountiful Cities, along with the Stephens-Lee Recreation Center, will provide extra tools, hand sanitizer, and water for your comfort and safety. Asheville Greenworks will supply extra gloves and trash bags. You're encouraged to bring your own tools, gloves, drinks and anything else you need. While masks are welcome, they're not required. These community work days are a partnership with the City of Asheville.
A big shoutout to all the volunteers who helped in the park and continue to help. Your hard work is greatly appreciated.
Parking is available at the Stephens-Lee Recreation Center parking lot, located at 30 George Washington Carver Avenue. Stay updated on the Dr. George Washington Carver Edible Park Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100064283755413.
See you on August 18th for a productive day of community collaboration!
